We watch the traffic to find the entrance, check that it is wasps and not bees, and ask everyone to stay indoors with windows on that side closed. The treatment is applied at the entrance. You will see the wasps get busier for a while afterwards. That is a sign the treatment is being carried in.
Afterwards
Activity dies down over the following hours and usually stops within a day or two. The one rule is not to block the entrance, because the wasps need to keep using it for the treatment to work. Once everything has been quiet for a few days, you can seal the gap if you want to.
