If a pest problem keeps returning to your March home, a £120 inspection can show what earlier treatments missed, usually where it lives and how it gets in.
When a problem comes back after treatment, the most useful thing a £120 inspection tells you is why. Usually the answer is one of two things: the treatment was aimed at where the pest was seen rather than where it lives, or the way in was never closed. The inspection looks for both.
People in March homes often describe the same sequence. Something is noticed, a product is bought or a quick treatment is done, things go quiet, and a few weeks later it starts again. Quiet does not mean solved. A pest that is disturbed can move to another part of the building and come back to the original spot when conditions suit.
March has older terraces near the railway and newer estates on the edges, and the fix looks different in each. In a terrace the answer may involve the shared roof line. On a newer estate it is more likely to be small gaps where services enter the house.
You receive identification, the location of the activity, a list of access points and a recommended plan with a price. If the right next step is proofing instead of another treatment, the report says that.
It records the day it was carried out, covers what can be safely reached and is not a structural survey. It cannot guarantee that a problem will not return, and anyone who says it can is overselling.
The inspection cost guide explains the fixed price, and the March inspection page describes the service.
Consider a March terrace where mice were baited twice in the kitchen. The kitchen went quiet, but scratching continued in the evenings. The inspection might show that the colony was based in a shared roof space and reaching the kitchen through a gap by the pipework. Baiting the kitchen again would not help. Closing the route and dealing with the roof would.
