Pest Inspection & Survey in March
If you have paid for treatments and it keeps returning, the next treatment is very unlikely to be the answer. Something is being missed.
Signs You May Need Pest Inspection & Survey in March
- Droppings you cannot confidently identify
- Noises with no other evidence to go with them
- Recurring insect activity from no obvious source
- Damage — gnawing, holes, disturbed insulation — with no confirmed cause
- A problem that keeps returning after treatments
- An unexplained smell, or activity a previous visit did not resolve
The Problem That Keeps Coming Back
A recurring pest problem is nearly always one of a small number of things, and none of them is solved by repeating the treatment more forcefully.
The usual causes
- The identification was wrong. The treatment was correct for a pest you do not have
- There is a structural route in that nobody has closed — a drainage defect, an open cavity, a roofline gap
- The source was never found. Common with flies and with fleas: the adults get treated and whatever is producing them does not
- The scope was too narrow. One flat treated in a block, one room treated in a house, one unit treated in a terrace
- Something is sustaining it — a food source, waste handling, storage, a neighbour's property
- The aftercare was undone, such as cleaning a treated surface too early
What we do differently on a recurrence
- We ask what has already been done, by whom and when
- We look at the structure first, not the activity
- We look outside as well as in, including drainage and the boundary
- We are willing to conclude it is not a pest control problem — a drainage repair, a building repair, a neighbour issue — and say so
£120 fixed cost. If the answer is that somebody has been treating the wrong thing, you will be told.
