Oundle
We cover Oundle, the Northamptonshire market town on the River Nene, for rat control at the same price as Cambridge. The job is the same everywhere: find the route, treat where the rats run, and close the way in once they are gone.
Oundle sits just over the county boundary from Cambridgeshire, in Northamptonshire, and is known for its many old stone buildings. It is within the area we cover, and rat control there works exactly as it does in Cambridge or Peterborough, at the same price.
Stone buildings are solid, but they have their own weak points. Mortar joints soften and wash out over time, leaving gaps at ground level. Old service entries were often cut roughly through thick walls and never properly made good. Floors in older houses may sit over voids that connect to the walls, and alterations over the years can leave old drain connections under a floor that nobody knows are there.
None of this means an older house is bound to get rats. It means that when rats do arrive, the route in may be less obvious than a hole by the back door, and it is worth looking carefully at the walls, the floors and the drains.
Rats need water every day and like thick cover, so gardens with a watercourse, a ditch or dense vegetation along a boundary can attract them. An occasional rat crossing a garden near the water is not necessarily an infestation. A burrow near the house, gnawing in a shed, or droppings in an outbuilding is worth acting on. Our guide to seeing a rat in the garden helps you tell the difference.
Rat control in Oundle is £260, with no call-out fee, and the price is confirmed before anything is booked. The rat control cost guide explains what that covers. Sealing the gaps once the rats have gone is rat and mice proofing, £180 for up to 1 hour, with any further time quoted before it is carried out.
Every treatment is guaranteed, so if the problem comes back within 14 days of treatment, we return and re-treat free of charge.
A few things make the first visit more useful:
If you are unsure whether it is rats at all, our post on how to tell if you have rats will help, and a pest inspection and survey is £120 fixed cost if you would rather have it confirmed. The main rat control service page describes the service in full, and our rat control in Peterborough page covers the city to the north-east. Call 01223 902388 to arrange a visit in Oundle.
