Bed Bug Control • Great Shelford
Almost every enquiry starts with bites. They are the least dependable evidence there is, and it is worth understanding why before drawing conclusions from them.
People react to bed bug bites very differently. Some come up in obvious marks within hours. Others take days. And a proportion of people show no visible reaction at all while being bitten nightly.
That variation is why two people sharing a bed can reach opposite conclusions about whether there is a problem, and why bites alone can neither confirm nor rule anything out.
BPCA's wording is careful and worth repeating properly: bed bugs can harbour various pathogens, but transmission to humans has not been proven and is believed to be unlikely. So they are not a disease risk in any practical sense — but the itching, the reaction some people have, and the effect on sleep are real problems and reason enough to deal with them.
We look for physical evidence rather than working from the bites, because reactions vary so much that they cannot size a problem.
Treatment then goes into the harbourage we have found. We confirm what is involved and what it comes to before the visit is arranged.
Our current price is £220 first room, +£80 per additional room. There is no call-out fee, and the figure is confirmed with you before anything is booked — never afterwards.
Our Bed Bug Control cost guide explains what the price covers and what happens on the day, and every price we charge is published on the pest control price list.
Treating on the strength of bites alone means treating without knowing what you have. Several things produce similar marks, and one of them is not an insect at all.
