Flies returning after a treatment is not usually a failed treatment. It means the source was never found, and there are only a few places it can be.
A fly treatment deals with the adults present and leaves a residual on resting surfaces. If a source is still producing, the population simply rebuilds — which is why recurrence is a diagnostic result rather than a disappointment.
| What keeps returning | What it means | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Large, loud, at windows, in waves | Something has died and is still there | Loft, cavity, under floors, chimney |
| Small, furry, on walls near water | Organic film in a waste pipe | Every drain and overflow, including low-use ones |
| Tiny, hovering, near food or bins | Fermenting residue | Recycling, under units, the bin itself, a drain |
| Ordinary house flies, outdoors in | Waste within reach | The bin base, food caddy, compost, pet waste |
| Large numbers in a loft each autumn | Cluster flies overwintering | Nothing indoors — proof the roof space instead |
If we have treated and it has returned, tell us. Knowing it came back — and how long afterwards, and which type — narrows the source considerably, and that is the conversation worth having rather than simply treating again.
Where a problem has returned we treat the recurrence as information, because the type of fly and the timing narrow down which source was missed.
We then deal with that source rather than simply repeating the treatment. The treatment and the cost are set out before we book you in.
Our current price is £180 fixed cost. There is no call-out fee, and the figure is confirmed with you before anything is booked — never afterwards.
Our Fly Control cost guide explains what the price covers and what happens on the day, and every price we charge is published on the pest control price list.
Repeating the same treatment on a recurring problem is the definition of treating the symptom. If it came back, something is still producing them, and that is what needs finding.
