Two aftercare instructions that sound like they contradict each other. They do not, and getting them the wrong way round is the commonest reason a flea treatment underperforms.
Use the rooms normally. BPCA describes the developed flea waiting inside its cocoon until it detects the vibrations caused by a person or animal — and notes it can also detect pressure, heat, noise or carbon dioxide.
Your footfall is that signal. It brings the remaining fleas out onto a treated carpet, which is exactly where you want them. Shut the room up and they simply wait until the treatment has stopped working.
So: walk on it, do not clean it. The vacuuming that helps is all done before we arrive.
Any of those, tell us. The treatment is not something you should have to guess about.
We treat the affected rooms and then set out the aftercare clearly, because on fleas the fortnight afterwards decides the outcome.
That means using the rooms normally and leaving the carpet uncleaned. You get the treatment and the figure before anything is booked.
Our current price is £220 first room, +£60 per additional room. There is no call-out fee, and the figure is confirmed with you before anything is booked — never afterwards.
Our Flea Control cost guide explains what the price covers and what happens on the day, and every price we charge is published on the pest control price list.
The most common way a flea treatment underperforms is not the product. It is a thorough vacuum done two days later, which lifts the residual straight back out of the pile.
