- In the gap beside the boiler, or wherever pipework enters.
- Behind or under a freestanding unit that never gets moved.

- Nesting material — shredded paper or fabric in a corner
- Faint smearing along the edge of a route
- A gap. BPCA put a mouse at 5mm, roughly the diameter of the eraser end of a pencil, so it will be smaller than you are expecting
Before You Clean
Clear only what food hygiene genuinely requires, and photograph the pattern first. The distribution is the map of where the activity runs, and it is what decides where a treatment goes. It cannot be reconstructed once it has been wiped away.
