A mouse needs a gap of five millimetres. Once you know that number, the question stops being whether your house has one and becomes which one they are using.
BPCA put it precisely: mice only need a gap of 5mm to gain entry — roughly the diameter of the eraser on the end of a pencil.
That single figure explains most of what people find surprising about mice. Every building has gaps that size. The question is never whether there is a way in, only which one is being used.
Closing those gaps is proofing work, and we price it separately at £180 for up to an hour so you are not paying for it if you would rather your own builder did it. The £260 treatment deals with the mice; proofing decides whether the next ones get in.
We survey inside and out for the activity, the harbourage and the way in, because a 5mm gap is easy to have and hard to spot.
Treatment is then placed along the runs they actually use. We confirm what is involved and what it comes to before the visit is arranged.
Our current price is £260. There is no call-out fee, and the figure is confirmed with you before anything is booked — never afterwards.
Our Mice Control cost guide explains what the price covers and what happens on the day, and every price we charge is published on the pest control price list.
A trap and a shop bait deal with what is in the room. Neither closes the gap that let them in, so the property carries on being available to the next ones.

Read the price guide →People describe the smell before they describe the droppings. It is one of the more reliable signs there is, and it is worth knowing what it means.
Read the guide →You caught one and the noise stopped for two nights. That is the point at which most people stop, and it is the point at which the problem usually is not over.
Read the guide →Almost everybody who searches for the way in is looking for something too big. The number is smaller than seems plausible.
Read the guide →Mice have a fairly distinctive sound once you know what you are listening for, and it is not the one most people describe.
