People want one visit and a solved problem. With squirrels that is not available, and anybody promising it is not telling you the truth.
It is a fair expectation to have — most pest control is a visit and a follow-up. Squirrel work is genuinely different, and the reasons are worth setting out.
This is the fundamental one. A trapping programme cannot be set and left. It has to be checked, and checked regularly, because leaving an animal in a trap is neither humane nor acceptable practice.
That single requirement makes this a job with multiple visits in it, and it is where the price difference between squirrel work and a rodent treatment comes from. It is not a more difficult animal — it is a job with more attendances.
A squirrel using a roof space leaves it to forage, with activity peaks shortly after first light and in the couple of hours before dusk. It is not sitting in the loft waiting to be dealt with, and a single visit at eleven in the morning may coincide with an empty roof space.
Because the animal comes and goes, a quiet roof space proves nothing at all. The job finishes when there is no fresh evidence over a period — which requires somebody to come back and look for it.
Steps two and three cannot be done on the same day, and step four cannot be done until step three is finished. That is not padding, it is the sequence.
The visits needed to finish the job are in the fixed price rather than added afterwards, and there is no call-out fee. That is deliberate: it removes any incentive for anybody to declare the job finished early, which is precisely the failure mode this whole article is about.
It depends on how quickly the animal engages with the programme, and we are not going to give you a number that we cannot stand behind. What we will do is tell you where it stands at each visit rather than leaving you to guess, and finish it properly rather than quickly.
Tell us what you have found and where. We confirm the treatment and the price before anything is booked.

See the service →The noise makes a lot more sense once you know what is producing it. A squirrel in a loft is not wandering about — it is running a household.
